Blanche McCarty, 89, of 511 Indiana St, died today at the Carmen Nursing Home. She had been in poor health several years. She attended Crawfordsville schools and was a member of St. Bernard's Catholic Church. She was born Feb 18, 1885, at Crawfordsville to Jasper Newton and Florence Beaman McCormick. She married John Joseph McCarthy on June 16, 1903. He preceded her Sept 12, 1956. Surviving are a son, William P, of Crawfordsville; a daughter, Mrs. D.W. (Ruth) Pinkston of Crawfordsville; a brother, Ralph McCormick of Derwood, MD; 3 sisters, Mrs. Grace Grimes of Fresno, Calif; Mrs. Florence Plunkett of Keosha, WI; and Mrs. Ruth McGourick of Chicago; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by 3 sons, two sisters and a brother. Services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Bernard's Catholic Church with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Henry F. Ward officiatiting. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call at the Burkhart Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Tuesday. Recitation of the rosary will be at 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. - kbz
